KENWOOD TH234 handheld amateur transceiver is user-friendly and offer all the features one could need in an HT. The easy-to-use menu system, 60 memory channels, built-in keypad, programmable squelch, DTMF memory are designed for the utmost in convenience.

60 non-volative memory channels
For rapid access, all memory channels can independently store transmit and receive frequency, frequency step, tone frequency, etc. in non-volative E2PROM, eliminating the need for battery backup.

Built-in CTCSS tone encoder and optional decoder
The optional decoder (TSU-8) enables the setting of different tones for receive.

DTSS selective calling
Built-in DTSS (dual tone squelch system) allows DTMF access:the squelch opened only when a specific 3-digit code has been received. Group calling is also possible.

Powerful multi-scan capability
Choose from several scan modes: full band scan, programmable band scan, and memory scan with programmable memory channel lock-out. There are also 2 scan stop modes: TO (time-operated) and CO (carrier-operated).

DTMF memory function
Up to ten 16-digit DTMF codes with ID can be stored for automatic dial use when making telephone calls through an autopatch system. Telephone number redial is also provided.
